Great day,
This is a formal request to obtain youth membership for all the members of your organization. The High Point Youth Council (HPYC) of the NAACP has been dormant and we would like to revive it. At one point, youth from your organization had memberships, however, the memberships have expired. With your assistance and participation of your youth group along with others in our community, we will once again be connected to the oldest civil rights organization in the world – NAACP (1909). The Youth and College Division of the NAACP was organized in 1936.
Memberships dues are $10.00 w/out Crisis Magazine or $15.00 for a membership w/ Crisis Magazine. There are also opportunities to obtain life memberships (installment opportunity provided). The Unit # for High Point Youth Council is 59i1. We look forward to hearing how many youth memberships you will sponsor.
We are already FIRED UP, assist us in getting READY to GO!!!
“The mission of the NAACP Youth & College Division shall be to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, education, social and political status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora and other people of color’s contribution to civilization; and to develop an intelligent, effective youth leadership.”
“The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Youth and College Division is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race by developing a New Generation of Civil Rights and Community Leaders.
For over 80 years, the NAACP Youth and College Division has been one of the largest organized groups of young people in any secular organization in the country. This Division has grown to have more than 25.000 young people, under the age of 25 actively involved in the fight for civil rights. The NAACP has over 550 Junior Youth Councils”
